Your number stays on the phone. And gains the official API.
Coexistence is the official way for one business number to keep being answered from the app your team already uses and, at the same time, speak through the API. No migration, no new app, no lost chats.
One number, two channels, at the same time.
Coexistence is the platform's official mode that lets a single business number work inside the app on the phone and on the official API at the same time. It is not a workaround, not a phone plugged into a server, not an unofficial gateway.
In one sentence: your team keeps answering from the app it already uses, and in parallel the same number gains an official channel your own system can send and receive on.
What it is not
Either the phone, or the API. Never both.
That is how almost everyone frames it. Answer from the phone the way you always have, or move to the API and give that up.
The old way asks you to abandon the phone
Going to the API usually means migrating the number: the app stops working, replies move to a panel nobody on the team knows, and the history is left behind. Plenty of businesses give up right there and end up with no automation at all.
Coexistence removes the choice
The number lives in both places at once. Your team keeps replying from the phone exactly as before, while your system, your automation or your AI speak through the official API on that same number. Nobody changes how they work.
Live in three steps
No migration, no technical setup, no lost chats.

Connect your number
Run our guided Coexistence onboarding and scan the code from the app you already use. The app keeps working exactly as before.
We monitor it 24/7
Quality, messaging tier and connection state, watched continuously. If anything changes, you see it first.
Before you connect, check these
- The number is active in the business app, version 2.24.17 or newer.
- The number is not already connected to another API provider or another business account.
- The app stays on the phone. Do not uninstall it or delete the account there, the connection lives on it.
- Someone opens the app at least once every 14 days. That one is not optional, see below.
Our onboarding checks eligibility before anything is changed, and tells you exactly what is blocking if the number cannot be connected yet.
What stays the same, and what actually changes.
Coexistence runs on rules the platform sets, and a few things do change on the phone once you connect. You should read them before, not after.
Stays exactly as today
On the phone and through the API alike.
- Your one-to-one chats and their history. Roughly the last 6 months sync both ways.
- Your number, your profile and your team answering from the phone.
- The app itself. No new panel, nobody to retrain.
- Everything the API sends also lands in the app, so the phone still holds the whole conversation.
Works on the phone, invisible to the API
Nothing breaks in the app, these parts just cannot be automated.
- Group chats. They do not sync, and coexistence numbers are excluded from the groups API.
- Voice and video calls.
- Catalog and orders.
- Payments.
- Channels.
- In-app business tools: quick replies, away and greeting messages, labels.
Actually changes in the app
The honest list, taken from the platform's own documentation.
- Disappearing messages turn off for every one-to-one chat.
- View once is disabled for one-to-one chats.
- Live location is disabled for one-to-one chats.
- Broadcast lists: the existing ones become read-only, and you cannot create new ones.
- Message templates can no longer be sent from the app, only through the API.
- The Windows and WearOS companions are unlinked during onboarding. Supported devices can be linked again afterwards.
The technical ceiling, in numbers
Both worlds, no trade-off
The phone stays the phone
Your team opens the app and replies as always. No new panel, nobody to retrain.
The official API on the same number
Your system, your n8n, your CRM or your AI send and receive through the number your customers already know.
Your history stays put
No migration, nothing to export. Conversations stay on the device, exactly as they are.
Drop detection
The moment a connection breaks, even from 14-day inactivity, we catch it and show the reason.
Use it from your AI
Add our connector to Claude or ChatGPT and just ask: send messages, create templates, check health. No code, no panels.
A bridge, not a cage
Incoming messages route straight from the platform to your own system, so we never store your conversations and you are never locked into anyone's inbox.
This bridge collapses on its own. Nobody tells you.
If the app is not opened on the phone at least every 14 days, the platform tears down the API connection. Your phone keeps working normally, so nothing looks wrong, but your automation stops answering and messages from your system never leave. There is no warning. That is the drop we watch for around the clock and flag the instant it happens.
Simple, per number
A flat monthly fee per connected number. Message costs are billed by the platform directly to you, and we never mark them up.
- Guided Coexistence onboarding
- 24/7 health & connection monitoring
- Instant disconnection detection
- Unlimited numbers on one account
Questions, answered
Will I lose my chat history?
No. Coexistence connects your existing number without a migration, so your conversations stay intact.
Does my business app keep working?
Yes. You keep using the app exactly as before; the API connection runs alongside it.
Do I lose my groups?
No. Groups keep working normally in the app and your team chats in them as always. What you do not get is groups through the API: it neither sends nor receives group messages, so your automation cannot see them.
What about catalog, orders, payments and calls?
They all stay on the phone, unchanged. They simply sit outside the API, so your system cannot automate those parts.
What exactly gets disabled in the app?
Disappearing messages, view once and live location stop working in one-to-one chats. Existing broadcast lists become read-only and you cannot create new ones. Templates can only be sent through the API from then on. Onboarding also unlinks the Windows and WearOS companions, and supported devices can be linked again afterwards.
How fast can the API send?
20 messages per second. That is a fixed ceiling the platform applies to coexistence numbers, so it is not something we or you can raise.
Can I undo it?
Yes. You can disconnect the number from the API whenever you want and carry on with the app alone. The conversations were always on the phone, and they stay there.
Is there a limit on how many numbers I can connect?
No limit. Connect as many as you need from a single account, at US$9 per number per month, so five numbers is US$45. Your first 7 days are free, and you can cancel during the trial without being charged.
Who pays for the messages?
The platform bills conversations directly to you, on your own account's payment method. We never mark them up. Our charge is only the flat monthly fee per connected number.
Do you read my messages?
No. We only use the account and phone-number status needed to monitor your connection's health. We never read or store conversation content.
