EasyCoexistence vs Evolution API

How each one reaches WhatsApp

Evolution API: A self-hosted REST API and manager that wraps linked-device libraries behind a clean interface, with a dashboard, multi-instance support and webhooks. The developer experience is good, and underneath each instance is still a QR-linked device.

EasyCoexistence: Meta's Cloud API, with credentials Meta issued to the client's own WhatsApp Business Account, through Coexistence. The number is registered with Meta as an API number and the WhatsApp Business app carries on working on the phone at the same time.

What happens when it goes wrong

Both break sometimes. What differs is whether there is anyone to ask.

Evolution API: An active open-source project with a large community. The interface is stable, but what it wraps is not sanctioned, so a number banned for unofficial access is gone regardless of how well the wrapper is built.

EasyCoexistence: A connection on Meta's own infrastructure, monitored continuously. When it drops we read Meta's own disconnection reason, so fourteen days of inactivity is distinguishable from a real removal, and you are told before a customer notices.

What it costs, honestly

The unofficial route usually looks free, and the comparison is not really about the licence fee.

Evolution API: Free to license, self-hosted, so the real cost is the infrastructure and the person maintaining it. The polish makes it cheap to start and does not change what it is underneath.

EasyCoexistence: From US$ 9 per connected number per month, hosting, monitoring and the MCP connector included. There is no server to run, no session to re-link and nothing to rebuild when the protocol changes.

What each one can actually do

The honest part, and the reason the unofficial projects exist at all.

Evolution API: Send and receive, media, groups, multiple instances from one deployment, with webhooks and a usable dashboard. For a developer it is the most pleasant unofficial option available.

EasyCoexistence: Everything the Cloud API permits: send and receive messages, templates, media and interactive messages, with webhooks delivered by Meta. Group chats are outside the API and free-form replies need the 24 hour window open. Those are Meta's rules, and they apply to every official provider.

Who should choose which

There is a real case for each, and it depends entirely on what the number is worth.
