EasyCoexistence vs WPPConnect

How each one reaches WhatsApp

WPPConnect: A browser automation project that drives WhatsApp Web in a headless session, with a REST wrapper over the top. The number is linked by QR code and the session lives in the browser profile, so WhatsApp sees a linked device rather than an API client.

EasyCoexistence: Meta's Cloud API, with credentials Meta issued to the client's own WhatsApp Business Account, through Coexistence. The number is registered with Meta as an API number and the WhatsApp Business app carries on working on the phone at the same time.

What happens when it goes wrong

Both break sometimes. What differs is whether there is anyone to ask.

WPPConnect: An open-source community, active and responsive, but with no obligation to anyone. A WhatsApp Web change can break the session handling, and a ban has no appeal path because the access was never sanctioned.

EasyCoexistence: A connection on Meta's own infrastructure, monitored continuously. When it drops we read Meta's own disconnection reason, so fourteen days of inactivity is distinguishable from a real removal, and you are told before a customer notices.

What it costs, honestly

The unofficial route usually looks free, and the comparison is not really about the licence fee.

WPPConnect: Free, plus a server capable of running a browser continuously, memory for each session and somebody to restart it when a session dies. Multi-number setups multiply that.

EasyCoexistence: From US$ 9 per connected number per month, hosting, monitoring and the MCP connector included. There is no server to run, no session to re-link and nothing to rebuild when the protocol changes.

What each one can actually do

The honest part, and the reason the unofficial projects exist at all.

WPPConnect: Whatever WhatsApp Web can do, including groups and personal chats, which is genuinely broader than the official API. It is also slower and heavier, because there is a browser in the path.

EasyCoexistence: Everything the Cloud API permits: send and receive messages, templates, media and interactive messages, with webhooks delivered by Meta. Group chats are outside the API and free-form replies need the 24 hour window open. Those are Meta's rules, and they apply to every official provider.

Who should choose which

There is a real case for each, and it depends entirely on what the number is worth.
